From being called 'flat screen', to flaunting her greys and battling endometriosis; Times The Kapil Sharma Show's Sumona Chakravarti's inspired all with her body image battles

Sumona Chakravarti, widely loved for her comic timing on The Kapil Sharma Show, recently shared powerful insights on body image, aging, and health. In a refreshingly honest social media post, she opened up about embracing her grey hair, dealing with hormonal changes, battling endometriosis, and her spiritual journey. With raw honesty and vulnerability, she continues to inspire others to accept themselves and find strength in their stories. (Photo: Instagram)

Flaunting Her Grey Hair with Pride

Sumona addressed the stigma surrounding women with greying hair. While women often tell her to cover them up, she finds support and compliments from men who find it beautiful. She questioned society's double standards—where a man with salt and pepper hair is admired but women are urged to conceal signs of aging. Her message was clear: let women define beauty on their own terms, not society’s. (Photo: Instagram)

Learning to Embrace and Love Her Body

As an actor, Sumona is expected to align with beauty norms—whether through fashion, body weight, or hair. But she now focuses on loving her body for what it is, rather than changing it for others. With every passing year, her relationship with her body has become more compassionate. She's learning to appreciate its changes and urges others to reject pressure and find peace in self-love. Being Mocked as a ‘Flat Screen’

In her 20s, Sumona was slender and mockingly called a "flat screen" due to her body type. Now at 35, she’s curvier—thanks to hormonal shifts and endometriosis. Instead of resentment, she’s found acceptance. She uses her past to encourage women not to burden themselves or each other with unrealistic beauty expectations, especially in a world already filled with enough challenges. (Photo: Instagram)

The Power of Self-Acceptance

Sumona believes that whatever choices we make—be it hair dye, Botox, or marriage—they should be ours alone. Her message is to embrace aging gracefully and evolve emotionally alongside physical changes. She reminds her followers that beauty is fluid, personal, and not tied to age or approval. The idea is to live authentically, not according to imposed norms or social validation. (Photo: Instagram)

Walking the Spiritual Path

In search of deeper healing, Sumona turned to Vipassana—a 10-day silent meditation retreat. She disconnected completely to reconnect with herself. Since 2011, she has explored various spiritual paths, seeking mental clarity and emotional peace. Her experience reflects her desire to grow beyond surface-level struggles and prioritize internal well-being and balance over external appearances. (Photo: Instagram)

Living with Endometriosis Since 2011

Sumona revealed she’s been battling stage IV endometriosis for years. She emphasized the importance of diet, stress management, and regular exercise to manage the condition. By speaking openly, she hopes to spread awareness and encourage other women to take this common yet under-discussed health issue seriously. Her bravery has sparked conversations among patients, families, and even medical professionals. (Photo: Instagram)

Everyone is Fighting Silent Battles

Sumona shared that everyone carries invisible burdens—grief, pain, fear, or illness. She urged people to approach one another with compassion and kindness. Opening up about her struggles wasn’t easy, but she hopes it inspires others. Even if her words touch just a few souls, she believes being vulnerable and authentic was worthwhile in a world that desperately needs more empathy. (Photo: Instagram)

Stay private in your private live. Don't try to get limelight from every moment. If you will be on roads, there will be other vehicles and traffic for sure. You can own a car not the city.
