From Ankita Lokhande working for 148 hours nonstop for Pavitra Rishta to Rupali Ganguly losing weight for Anupamaa: TV celebs who went extremes for their roles

TV actors usually receive immense love and popularity for their daily soaps and popular characters. However, they also face consequences for the same. These TV celebs however gave their best for their roles and went too far. From some losing weight to others working for days non-stop and working during injury, these TV celebs deserve applause from the audience for their work in the shows.

Ankita Lokhande

Ankita Lokhande, popularly known for her role of Archana in Pavitra Rishta gives her all when it comes to her work. The actress opened up about working for 148 hours non-stop for the TV in an episode of The Kapil Sharma Show. She added, “I was wearing a Navari that time for my wedding and I was shooting for 148 hours in it continuously. We used to sleep on the set but those were the days and now I have so much to remember. It was my life’s best moment and I have learned so much from Pavitra Rishta. That time the Ganpati festival was going on when I had just begun doing the show and I wanted to go to Siddhivinayak temple for darshan. People saw me and said that they would help me get darshan immediately but they just wanted one photo. And that was when I realized that I had become famous.”

Mona Singh

Mona Singh’s on-screen character of Jassi is still loved and appreciated by the audience. The actress played a lead (Jassi) in the TV show Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi and had to do several things for her role. In a recent interview with Mirchi Plus, she revealed details about her shooting days during Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi and that shocked many. She revealed staying at a hostel to keep her identity hidden, not being allowed to wax or shape eyebrows and more. Commenting on the same, Mona said, "Contracts were very strict at that point in time. I couldn’t tell anyone how I looked in real life, who I was or what my name was. The first ever award that I bagged for the show was as Jasmeet Walia and I did not get it as Mona Singh. I used to wonder when people get to know me and look at me. But it was another high to be Jassi as the show was very popular. There were many restrictions like none of the actors knew how I looked even my Jassi Jaisi... actors did not know at that point how I looked in real life."

Rupali Ganguly

Rupali Ganguly is widely loved for her role as Anupamaa. The actress had to lose weight for her lead character in the TV show. In an exclusive interview with ETimes TV, “To be 40 plus and not have a 26-inch waist when you’re playing the lead can be challenging at times. I always wondered if it would work. You can’t predict the fate of a show. I still can’t believe it’s happening to me and hope the bubble doesn’t burst.”

Dheeraj Dhoopar

While shooting for the new TV show Saubhagyavati Bhava 2, actor Dheeraj Dhoopar got badly injured on the sets of the show. However, he didn’t let the shoot suffer because of that and chose to continue shooting instead of halting. Dheeraj opened up about his injury and shared a picture of a deep cut on his foot. He shared, "Getting injured or falling sick while shooting is a part of life for an actor, and for me, work always comes first. Though the injury was a painful one I did not let it affect my performance in any way. This has not happened to me for the first time, I have been injured on the set before but I make it a point to deliver no matter what."

Monika Bhadoria

Taarak Mehta’s Bawri aka Monika Bhadoria was asked to lose weight in 20 kgs for her role in the TV show. In an interview with ETimes TV, she shared that due to the pressure of losing weight, she even suffered from vitamin deficiencies and other health issues. She also recalled being humiliated on the sets of the show due to her body weight. Monika shared, "I got a call from Sohil Ramani (the project head of Taarak Mehta) and he told me he needs to speak to me. I went to the office. He was not there around that time so someone else was there from the accounts department.”

Over the years, Nia Sharma has given many hit projects and has not disappointed her fans. The actress goes all out when it’s about her role or a project. In an interview with ETimes TV, the actress revealed starving herself for almost seven days to maintain a fit body for a music video.
