From Aishwarya Sharma to Shailesh Lodha: Celebs who shocked fans by quitting popular TV shows midway

Aishwarya Sharma aka Pakhi’s exit from TV show Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin has left many shocked. Audiences tend to get attached to their favourite on-screen characters and it’s not easy for them to see other actors take their place. Several TV celebs like Disha Vakani, Dheeraj Dhoopar and others left everyone in a deep state of shock after making an exit from their TV shows.

Aishwarya Sharma, who is popularly known for her on-screen portrayal of Pakhi in Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin, is making headlines for her exit from the show. The actress was initially seen as the antagonist but post leap her character turned positive. She received huge recognition from the show. However, Aishwarya revealed that she wants to grow as an actor and try out new things. In an exclusive interview, she added, “Aishwarya is taking a bag full of memories with her because this show has given me almost everything. I feel indebted to GHKPM, as it has given me more than I had expected. I feel it’s time to explore new opportunities.” She has now bagged Khatron Ke Khiladi.

Shailesh Lodha was another extremely loved actor of daily soap Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. The actor portrayed the role of Taarak and received immense love. However, he left the show because of fall out with producer Asit Kumar Modi. He has been replaced by actor Sahil Shroff.

Known for her iconic character of Daya Ben in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Disha has been loved by all. The actress took a maternity leave in 2017 and never returned post-that. Audience has been waiting for her return ever since. However, there is no confirmation about her return until now.

Dheeraj, who was an integral part of TV show Kundali Bhagya, made an exit from the show last year. Netizens adored him as Karan Luthra in the show and were shocked with the news of his exit. The actor had then revealed that he had to leave the show as he has new responsibilities to play. He added, "It was a difficult decision to leave Kundali Bhagya. I was very emotional when I had to leave the show. The character will always be my baby and I have spent the best moments of my life on the sets of Kundali Bhagya. It was very difficult but now I have new responsibilities and I have a new character to play and I should focus on that."

After playing the role of rock star Abhi for 8 long years, Shabir decided to quit the show. He decided to step out of the shadow of his character. The actor later bagged the role of Mohan in TV show Pyar Ka Pehla Naam Radha Mohan.

Gashmeer played the role of Aditya in TV show Imlie. Fans loved his on-screen chemistry with co-star Sumbul Touqeer. However, the actor had to quit the show after the show's makers failed to agree to some of Gashmeer’s conditions. A source revealed, "The makers tried to convince him to stay back since he is the face of the show and the track focuses on him and female lead Sumbul Touqeer Khan. But all efforts went in vain when the producer Gul Khan wasn't able to agree to some of the terms and conditions laid down by Gashmeer."

Sriti Jha, who was playing the lead role of Pragya in Kumkum Bhagya opposite Shabir Ahluwalia made an exit from the show after being a part of it for 8 years. Now the show revolves around Ranbir (Krishna Kaul) and Prachi's (Mugdha Chapekar) lives. The actress was later seen in stunt based reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi 12.

Disha Parmar and Nakuul Mehta enjoyed popularity for their role of Priya and Ram respectively in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain. The show took at 20 year leap and the actors didn’t want to age on the screen and hence decided to quit. But there are reports that both the actors are going to return to the show with its new season.

Hina Khan has been loved till date for her amazing on-screen performance of Akshara in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. However, it came as a shock for many when the actress decided to quit the show after almost 8 years. The actress chose to make a controversial exit from the show due to the leap. She was then seen in Bigg Boss and later in Khatron Ke Khiladi.
