Exclusive - Pankhuri Awasthy reveals Gautam Rode is obsessed with their daughter Radhya; latter says "I keep telling her I am her first love and her first date'

TV couple Gautam Rode and Pankhuri Awasthy, who welcomed twins Radhya and Raditya in July last year, are thoroughly enjoying the parenthood phase. In an exclusive conversation with ETimes TV, they shared their experiences as new parents. Gautam expressed his deep affection for his daughter, frequently telling her that he is her first love and will be her first date. Pankhuri humorously revealed that Gautam often gets confused while dressing their kids in onesies. Gautam: We are having a great time and enjoying every bit of the parenthood journey. There are sometimes a few tough days, I won’t say bad days aisa kuch nahi hota. When there are tough days, you don’t get sleep, it happens to Pankhuri. Hats off to her for the way she handles our kids and the responsibilities. She’s a hands-on mother and to another level. Gautam: These days I workout on my balcony and I keep recording their videos when Pankhuri is with the kids. I recorded her video a few days ago. Aise pure and innocent moment jab aap capture karte ho itna Accha lagta hai. Gautam: When we are lying on our bed, the four of us woh ek alag he feeling hoti hai. And it is a different experience where you feel like this is my family. Ye Mera hai ye Kahin nahi jaa sakta hai, ye mere saath ye rahega Puri zindagi. I keep telling my daughter, listen I’m your first love and I will be your first date. She doesn’t understand anything but Pankhuri records everything and says she will show her when she grows up. I am obsessed with her. (Photo: Instagram)

Pankhuri: Motherhood journey has been amazing. But at the same time you need to be resilient. As a mother you want to do everything and want to go all out even when your body is breaking and you might not be feeling very great. But you have to be present for your kids. (Photo: Instagram)

Gautam-Pankhuri: I always wanted twins. Yes, she manifested this. We don’t have twins in our entire family neither on Pankhuri’s side nor mine. And actually when we had twins then we realised what it is to bring two kids simultaneously. Both of them are so different and have very different demands. (Photo: Instagram)

Pankhuri: The most difficult part in my motherhood journey has been when both of them need me at the same time. That’s the difficult part that both of them want to be held at the same time and Ek bacche ko Mujhe Kisi Aur ke paas dena hi padta hai and that’s the biggest pain that both my kids need me but I can’t attend to them together for a longer time. Recently, I went to the salon and I took both of them together. I made them sit on my lap while I got the services done. That’s the only pain kids never give any pain, they are so tailor-made that they know everything ke unko kis time par kya sikhna hai. (Photo: Instagram)

Gautam: Our son Raditya is a toofanmail. He doesn’t sit or stop, he just crawls so fast. He starts climbing stairs and that is scary. One person has to be with him and you can’t leave him alone. Radhya is a calm one, she’s a princess. She likes her own space and thoda sa crawl karti hai, she’s a safe kid. They both are unique in their own ways. Pankhuri: Gautam was ready to be a father. Emotion wise I would give him a million out of 10 but nappy and other stuff he tries to do his best. Gautam’s biggest problem in life are the onesies.
