Exclusive- Kunwar Amar Singh on his breakup: It happened because of the financial situation I was in and left a huge impact on me

Anupamaa fame Kunwar Amar Singh has been winning hearts with the current track of the show. Kunwar exclusively shared with ETimes TV that the show has been his massive comeback. In the recent chat, the actor gets candid about men's mental health, breakups, social media and more. He also opened up about how he moved on from the dark phase of his life during his breakup.

Amar on men's mental health

It is often said that men in society are supposed to be tough. We are often told that 'mard ko dard nahi hota', 'you cannot cry, cannot be weak, cannot complain.' This does make a huge impact on people's lives and mental health. That has been one of the major reasons why people are going through anxiety and depression and we often see most of them ending up on suicide.

3/7

Speaks about the reason for his breakup

I had never spoken about it as I don't like to share details of my personal life. Now that I have moved on, I had a breakup after Covid-19. And the breakup happened due to the financial situation I was in. Earlier, I couldn't believe it as I had only heard this happen but when I faced it, I was in disbelief. That is when I realised, that no matter who you are, no matter how famous you are, when the whole world was crashed, your financial status went down, people who once told me that they were mine, had a relationship for years just walked out.

Left a huge impact on his mental health

It did leave a huge impact on me, I never cried but at that time I was crying. I went to my parents and told them that I had no idea what to do. It wasn't because she left, but the reality was too harsh. I had to accept the truth that nobody would care. Unless you are a strong part of society and have an impact, you have to keep growing. The acceptance helped me to come out of it.

5/7

Here's why Kunwar Amar is single

Now that things have changed and are happening in a positive direction, people want to meet again and hang out together. But now, I know my worth. The reason I have been single for the last 3 years is that I cannot allow anybody to come and do the same. I am a giver, if I am in love with you I will do everything. Now, for me, it is all about is the person worthy enough. Would they stay if times go wrong again?

6/7

Why is it important to seek therapy

It is important to seek therapy if you cannot handle it on your own. It is absolutely okay to see therapy, a guy like me who keeps things to himself would end up getting into trouble. If I am not headstrong, I would get into serious situations that would lead to a step I shouldn't take. So in such cases, you must seek therapy and try talking it out. There is no harm, there are no judgements, and it isn't a taboo.

7/7

Amar's take on social media

I think social media has given a lot of information in a very right way makes a huge impact and also reaches the masses. This is the right use of social media. On the other hand, there is cringe content. The cringe is making more impact on people and there is a lot of explicit content coming out. It has become a platform that uses no creativity. People are following such bizarre trends to stay in the spotlight. So I feel social media is a bane and a boon both.
