Exclusive - Khatron Ke Khiladi 14's Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia on her weight loss transformation: It was a difficult journey as there were a lot of hormonal imbalances, side effects of medicines

Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia, a contestant on Khatron Ke Khiladi 14, recently had a brief chat with ETimes TV. She discussed her experience on the stunt-based reality show, making new friends, and overcoming her fears. Nimrit also talked about her life after Bigg Boss 16, her struggles with mental health, and how she battled depression. She shared her weight loss journey, highlighting that it was a slow process due to hormonal imbalances and medication. Nimrit emphasized that people often fixate on weight in kilos, while she focused on reducing her body fat percentage. (Photo: Instagram)

Journey on the KKK 14

I’d only heard from people that Khatron Ke Khiladi is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and its absolutely correct. I would say if anyone gets an opportunity to do the show, they should definitely do it. I feel this is the best reality show we have. It is in a positive space and you really grow as a person. Talking about my journey I’m very happy because in the show there’s a lot of luck involved with the kind of stunt you get. But for me, I was one of the few contestants who got to experience all the elements of stunts. Whether it was height, water, underwater, creepy crawlies, animals, shock, car, air, you name it and I’ve experienced that and because of this, I could overcome my fears. I had a lot of elements to explore and got a chance to explore my strengths.(Photo: Instagram)

Bonding between contestants

When you all start watching the episodes you will realise that we all had an amazing bond with each other. I actually realised from my previous reality show to this show that joh friendships off camera form hoti hai Woh bahut honest hoti hai. The reason behind this is that you are not meeting people with any agenda. This was a show where we were travelling with a bunch of people and you can choose to either be friends or not be friends. There is like a real-life honest friendship to it.(Photo: Instagram)

Friendship with girl gang

Especially for the girls I would say Sumona, Niyati, Krishna, Aditi and I were always there to support each other throughout. Even though we might be competing with each other we would motivate the other person. I’m actually very happy that I met such positive people on this show and I will continue friendships in real life as well.(Photo: Instagram)

For one year I was on medications while doing a Choti Sardarni

Recently, one of my best friends asked me, "Do you realize that you have received love from your fans and admirers even during your lowest phases of life?" This made me realize that, indeed, when I was diagnosed with depression around the middle of Choti Sardarni, I fought through it. I was on medication for a year while working on Choti Sardarni. I had just finished the show and had stopped the medication right before entering Bigg Boss 16. (Photo: Instagram)

Even throughout my lowest phases, I was still doing well for myself

Being in that space where you are coming off medications and dealing with hormonal changes in your body, and still receiving so much love and appreciation in Bigg Boss, is incredible. Even during my lowest phases, I managed to do well for myself. I feel truly grateful to God for giving me strength and for surrounding me with the right people. Now, I feel much more sorted in terms of my mental and physical health. (Photo: Instagram)

On trolling post Bigg Boss - it is basically life and everyone will not be happy with what you do

I realised that life is such that not everyone will be happy with what you do, and ultimately, we have to be there for ourselves. My dreams, and my aspirations can't be surpassed by anything else. If my friends, family, and all the relationships I have, whether personal or professional, understand and support me and my dreams, then how can I just waste my time? (Photo: Instagram)

Ek he zindagi hai and I can’t waste it for anyone else

I believe these are just incidents in life that make you stronger. I came here with a certain ambition; I love my work, and my dreams are very important to me. I want to fulfil them because we only have one life (Ek he zindagi hai), and I can't waste it for anyone else. When I came out of the show, there were many opinions and pieces of advice, but the best thing I did for myself was to listen to myself while respecting others' advice. (Photo: Instagram)

Weight loss journey - We are so fixated with kilos

My fitness journey began immediately after Bigg Boss. I used to work out in the Bigg Boss house whenever I had time. But after leaving the show, although the scale showed that I had lost 10 kilos, I still had a high-fat percentage. We often fixate on numbers like 57 or 58 kilos, but what really matters is your fat percentage. When I came out of Bigg Boss, my fat percentage was 33, and my weight was 64. Even though the scale looked great, visually, I didn't look like I weighed 64 kilos. (Photo: Instagram)

It was a difficult journey as there were a lot of hormonal imbalances, side effects of medicines

It was a difficult journey as there were a lot of hormonal imbalances and side effects of medicines. There was a lot of delay in the process. So to keep working out and not see results is frustrating but I just knew that I had to do this. I started my career with Miss India and have seen my journey from Xs to XL in the last few years in different working phases. It was important for me to feel like myself. (Photo: Instagram)
