The news of television actress Dolly Soni's demise has deeply shaken the entire industry, leaving her family and friends in mourning. The actress, who had been battling cervical cancer, passed away in the early hours of Friday midnight. Dolly Sohi was part of "Jhanak," but she had to quit the show as her health started deteriorating. Dolly's Jhanak co-star and her on-screen daughter Chandani Sharma got emotional while talking to ETimes TV about the late actress. Chandani called Dolly Sohi a courageous and smiling woman.
Speaking about Dolly Sohi's demise, an emotional Chandani Sharma said, "I’m actually in a state of shock and I really don’t know how to respond to the news. I don’t have words to express what I’m going through. She was the closest to me on sets and so was I because we were playing mother-daughter. It’s very difficult for me. I would say she fought till her last breath. She never discussed her illness to any of us. We all knew that she was suffering from cervical cancer but she never discussed it. She never talked about it and would shoot with us. After chemotherapy also she came and shot with us. She used to make reels with us and was a very happy person."
She further said, "In fact, when we have stomach ache or any other problem we go and discuss with other people on sets, but she never did. We used to go and tell everyone on sets but she never discussed it."
For the uninitiated, Dolly and her sister Amandeep Sohi passed away within 48 hours. Amandeep was admitted to hospital due to jaundice and eventually, she passed away.
Chandani stated that it is a big setback for Dolly and Aman's family, "It is a very big setback to her family. If you see her Instagram, the last reel that they put together Dolly and her sister, the song actually had lyrics that they can die for each other. I don’t know how this happens. The song talks about how we love each other so much that we can die together. The lyrics say so. I can't talk more about it (Chandni gets emotional)."
On a parting note, Chandani added how she wants to remember Dolly, "Everyone in my family would say that we both actually looked like a real mother-daughter. It was a perfect casting. I will always remember as a courageous, smiling woman. We would have so much fun together. The last conversation I had with her around February 14-15 was when she was complaining that I did not shoot a reel with her. I told her “app theek hoke aajao, I’ll come to your house and we will make the reel together.”
