Exclusive - From plans to tie the knot at their terrace to D-Day guest list: Divya Agarwal and Apurva Padgaonkar reveal wedding details

TV personality Divya Agarwal is preparing for her wedding with restaurateur Apurva Padgaonkar. The couple has chosen to tie the knot in an intimate ceremony at their residence in Chembur on February 20, opting to break free from traditional wedding customs. Renowned for her appearances in numerous television shows and films, Divya Agarwal and Apurva's wedding festivities will kick off with a futuristic sangeet ceremony scheduled for February 18, followed by a vibrant Mehendi celebration on the 19th. We are stress-free about our wedding

Divya-Apurva: We are stress-free actually. We don’t even know what we are wearing Abhi tak Humare kapde nahi aaye. I think we are very casual about our wedding preparations. I think we both are like that after being in a relationship with each other. We are now stress-free. We are not at all stressed about our wedding, if nothing is ready we are fine getting married in simple clothes. We are getting married on the terrace of our Chembur house on February 20th. We didn’t want to spend unnecessary money on a wedding

Divya-Apurva: We are doing all those things which are unusual and uncommon. We are glad that whoever we discussed our wedding plans with was very happy with our decision. Initially, we were going on that route of having a lavish wedding by booking a resort and having a destination wedding but we changed our mind. 50,000 logon ko nahi bulana hai, 50 logon ko bulake 50,000 ki khushiyaan deni hai. We didn’t want to spend unnecessary money on a wedding and would like to promote the same thing. We usually try to please others by doing a lavish wedding and guests, who attend the wedding themselves feel why did you spend so much money. We wanted to do it our way. (Photo: Instagram)

Last minute jitters

Divya: Yes, there are wedding jitters, oh my god, so many jitters. But also, at times, I feel like, ‘shadi ho rahi hai meri, wow, mujhe samajh hi nahi aa raha hai’. But it’s great, you know, it’s good jitters. (Photo: Instagram)

Wanted a simple wedding

Divya: I wanted a simple wedding like we used to do in 90s ghar par, with our own set of people. The people, who are attending the wedding are coming for us and not for the arrangements. (Photo: Instagram)

All my friends are volunteering on their own

Divya: I’m blessed with some amazing friends. They have come up on their own and decided to sing, host and do the arrangements. In fact, I was struggling to find a good wedding planner and my best friend is an event manager. She decided to do it. She has never done any weddings. We are doing all the arrangements together. All my friends are volunteering on their own. (Photo: Instagram)

Wedding trousseau

Divya: Ken Ferns is making outfits and we have full trust in him. I had only one requirement that it should be comfortable as we will be sitting for 2 hours for the wedding and do rituals. Ken has become a very emotional friend ever since we got into a relationship. We wanted him to design our outfits for our pheras. We have full trust in him. (Photo: Instagram)

Bride and groom will be colour coordinated

Divya: I am never in favour of wearing pastel colours for my wedding. My mother would kill me. We are not going for the proper red colour outfits. We will be wearing purple-red combinations. It is a very colourful moment of our life so we wanted it that way. We will be colour coordinated. (Photo: Instagram)

Guest list

Apurva-Divya: We have only invited 60 people for our wedding, including us and the catering people (laughs). (Photo: Instagram)

Wedding rituals

Divya: Our priest has decided to have one wedding which will include everything. As per our requirement, he has merged both the traditions. Our priest is the same person who has been associated with us for the longest time. Ever since we have been in a relationship, he has performed all the rituals for us. The houses we bought, the club everywhere he has performed puja. He will be performing our wedding. (Photo: Instagram)

Honeymoon plans

Divya-Apurva: To start with we would like to explore places in India only. Our country is very beautiful and we want to explore it fully. We have local plans. But then there is one moment in the world that happens in Maasai Mara and Apurva told me about it. The great migration where all the animals travel together without harming anyone. I want to experience that. (Photo: Instagram)
