Mere Angne Mein actress Charu Asopa has decided to relocate to Bikaner, her hometown for a better future for her daughter, Ziana. The actress in an exclusive conversation with Times of India TV, spoke about her big move of shifting from Mumbai to Bikaner. In a candid conversation, she sheds light on the reasons behind this life-changing decision and doesn’t hold back as she addresses her ex-husband Rajeev Sen’s recent comments doubting her financial situation. Ziana should have a stable life
I have been staying in Mumbai for quite a while now and my daughter is now growing up and I feel she should have a stable life. We should have a house of our own so that our life is stable. Ziana’s education has started, she’s in nursery now and currently she’s quite young toh abhi chal jaata hai but when she grownup relocating every now and then will not be good for her. She will get disturbed toh ek jagah par rehkar bada hona sahi hota hai. This is one of the major reasons to shift. (Photo: Instagram)
When I stayed in Mumbai the expenses were too much
I tried to buy a house in Mumbai but it is too expensive and I can’t afford it. So I felt it is best to stay at Bikaner and buy a house there. I can manage all the expenses there be it maid, rent or even a loan amount. When I stayed at Mumbai the expenses were too much, the rent amount and other expenses it costs around 1-2 lakhs, so itna mein toh main EMI deke Bikaner mein khud ka ghar bana lungi. As far as work is concerned, if I have to travel, I can do that
I feel the education system is also better there. Yahan main ne jitna dekha hai usse better I feel Bikaner ka education system hai. Academically everything is good there, there were many aspects of life which made me decide to relocate to Bikaner. As far as work is concerned if I have to travel for work in future, I can do that and Ziana can stay with her grandparents. It is better than leaving my daughter with maid here in Mumbai. It was my personal decision to not take up daily soaps
Touchwood! There was never an issue of acting projects drying up. It was my personal decision to not take up daily soaps. I was getting offers to do daily soaps but I was not interested in doing because they take 14-16 hours of my day. I want to give that time to my daughter. My priority right now is my daughter. I have not quit acting, I am ready to do ads, campaign, web shows, I can travel and shoot them and go back. (Photo: Instagram)
On the difficult decision to leave the city
It is a very difficult decision to make. I have spent 15-20 years in this city and it was my dream to come to Mumbai. It is heartbreaking to leave the City and go but we go through many changes in life and our priorities change in life. Right now my entire focus is my daughter. Right now I've made this decision but life mein phir se kabhi aisa lagega that I have enough money and I can buy a house in Mumbai, I'll comeback.
When I was doing Kaisa Hai Ye Rishta Anjana Sa my daughter suffered a lot
I know daily soaps are good source of income but you have to give all your time to a show and there is no personal life left. I have a small child to take care of. When I was doing Kaisa Hai Ye Rishta Anjana Sa my daughter suffered a lot. I don’t want her to raise like this. Main nahi chahti ke woh maid ke bharose badi hoti rahe aur main paise kamane mein busy rahoon. I want to focus on Ziana for few years till she is not grownup. I have been doing the business of selling clothes for the last one year
I have not started selling clothes now, I have been doing this business for the last one year. Par ye video abhi jaake kyun viral hogaya mujhe nahi pata. People who are calling me Bechari, I want to tell them I’m not a bechari. Maine bahot samajhkar decision liya hai, main apna ek brand khada karne ki koshish kar rahi hoon. When I started my career I immediately did not bag the role to play the main lead. Now, after spending 15 years in the industry, people have started to know me. It takes time to grow things. Also I want to request people to not drag others into all these things. I have seen many people making YouTube videos and dragging Sushmita Didis name Rajeev’s name. I don’t want people to drag Rajeev, Sushmita did or their family in this matter. Unke upar kuch bhi kehna sahi baat nahi hai. It is very disappointing that many people are doing this. On Rajeev questioning her financial crisis
Ye koi andha bhi bata sakta hai that cruise trip was a collaboration. I did not pay a single penny to stay there, koi mere baare mein kya bol raha hai, it shows their personality and character. They wanted me to promote the cruise. I did not talk to anyone about my midlife crisis or financial issues, I have been selling clothes since last one year. Suddenly, this video got viral and a publication contacted me. People started talking about it, so I had to clarify. I don't want to create Tamasha
I don’t want to create a tamasha about my personal life. Let the other person say and do what he wants to. Every-time one person starts and then the other person says something. Gharwaale, aapas mein he ladte rehte hain. Ek tamasha ban jaata hai society mein. I know how I’m buying the house. I have literally taken money from my friends, and from the people I know. For the down payment, I have arranged from someone and I have to return the amount by April 30th. Yes, I read about Rajeev questioning about my financial crisis. You know the thing is people who have not seen hardships in life, it is very easy for them to comment. They have never seen in life how people arrange for loans. They don’t know the hardships of middle class people. On informing Rajeev about relocating and his claims of not letting him meet Ziana
Yes, I had texted him the entire thing about my plans. I don't know why he is saying that I don't let him meet Ziana. Koi bhi apne ex-husband se yaa apne in-laws se itna involved nahi hota divorce ke baad jitna main hui hoon and everyone knows this. (Honestly, very few people stay as involved with their ex-husband and in-laws after a divorce the way I have. And that’s something everyone has seen. I’ve always made sure to stay connected with Rajeev and his family). Aur ab agar mujhe ye bola jaa raha hai that I don't let him meet Ziana then I don't know what to say, I can only laugh over this.
