Five years after her divorce, Vaishnavi Dhanraj is ready to get married again

Television actress Vaishnavi Dhanraj who married actor Nitin Sehrawat in 2012, separated in 2016. Five years later, the actress says she is ready to get married again. In an exclusive chat, she talks about her life post divorce and how she is ready to get married again.

She is ready to fall in love again

“I am right now looking for a nice guy to settle down with. I am not dating anyone at the moment. I was getting to know someone but that didn’t work out. I feel it is very difficult to find good people in the world now. There has to be some sincerity. My mother is so worried about me but I always tell her ladka toh mile,” says Vaishnavi.

It's a big decision to get married again, she says

“It's been a few years now that I have been divorced. It was a traumatic experience and it took me a while to process and understand what was happening and what happened. It is not easy,” says Vaishnavi.

Being divorced can be tough in a society like ours, she feels

“When a woman gets divorced people start linking her with so many people. Even if they are just friends the gossip goes on. Anyway all that doesn't bother me now."

Stability in personal life leads to stability in professional life, she feels

The actress feels that if someone is doing fine in their personal life then that helps them grow professionally as well. “I meet my friends who are well settled in their lives and are happily married. I see that they have an anchor in their lives and that is helping them excel in their professional lives as well,” says Vaishnavi.

She also dismisses the notion that people from the industry do not become good partners

“This is a completely wrong notion which people have. I am also from the industry. People say that they do not want to get married to someone who is from the entertainment industry. I think it is not the right thing to say. Actors are also humans. There are so many examples from the industry who have been happily living together since years now. There are few which didn’t work out but that's natural. Since we are constantly under the microscope, so that gets written about. And this happens in every industry, it is just that ours gets highlighted more,” shares Vaishnavi.

So what kind of man does she want in her life?

“I do not have any criteria like that. But yes there are certain things which I think a man in general should have. He should have integrity and he should respect other people. Loyalty and trust is very important to me. I want someone who sticks with me through thick and thin. And doesn’t run away when the water is deep,” she says.
