She lost her dad to Covid-19 on October 28, 2020. She had shared the heartbreaking news with her fans through an Instagram post. Sharing a picture with her father, Divya had written, “You are always with me...I love you papa...RIP.”
Divya was shaken by the sudden demise of her father. Later, in an exclusive interview with ETimes TV, the actress had talked about the loss and coping up with it. She had shared, “ Dad always made me strong and motivated me towards my dreams. I still cry and won’t say that it doesn’t affect me. I have realised now that I am the one who is responsible for the family. If I fall apart, what will my mother and brother do. I am healing because of my childhood friends, Varun and my family. My father would always hide his fears and insecurities and be the pillar of my family. Today when my family sees me strong, they also get motivated. It is just a thought, I know his presence is there. Whatever I am today, it is because of him and I always take his name.”
