Take a look at Bigg Boss' contestants who had criminal background in Salman Khan’s show

Controversial reality show Bigg Boss leaves no stone unturned to shock and surprise the audience besides providing fans and audience with entertainment. Each season, a diverse range of contestants from different walks of life enter the house. But some seasons have also witnessed the entry of a few inmates who have had criminal background. This year it is Sajid Khan, whose entry in the Bigg Boss 16 house is the most talked about and being pointed out by the audience on social media platforms. In the past it was Rahul Mahajan, Monica Bedi to name a few, a list of a few such contestants in the BB house.

Sajid Khan


ETimes TV was the first one to report that Sajid Khan would appear in Bigg Boss 16 as a contestant. But eversince his entry, netizens have been dissatisfied with his inclusion in the show. Sajid was in the news in 2018 as a result of the #MeToo movement. Many female stars had accused the director of sexual harassment. He was asked to leave Housefull 4, and Farhad Samji took over as director. Sajid had kept a low profile ever since but has now returned with Bigg Boss 16. Even singer Sona Mohapatra called out the channel fror allowing Sajid as one of the contestants.

Seema Parihar

Seema Parihar was a former bandit and a politician. Seema had said that her inspiration was former bandit Phoolan Devi. Seema was seen in a movie titled Wounded the Bandit Queen. She was a contestant of Bigg Boss 4 in 2010 and was evicted on day 76.

Sampat Pal

She was the leader of vigilante women group called Gulabi Gang. Sampat along with her gang has beaten up many public officials, men who were involved in domestic violence. In spite of going to jail twice, she continued her efforts to eradicate social injustice against women from this society. Sampat's Gulaab Gang has influenced people globally and it is said that a chapter on Gulaab Gang was also started in France. A movie that released earlier this year starring Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla was also made on her. She was in Bigg Boss season 6.

Rahul Mahajan

Rahul Mahajan, who was a part of Bigg Boss season 2 and then once again in Bigg Boss 14, was charged for consuming contraband drugs laced with alcohol at his late father Pramod Mahajan's residence. However, he was let-off drug trafficking charges and was booked only for consumption of banned drugs. Later his former wife Dimpy Mahajan had also filed a domestic violence case against him. The two are now settled with their respective spouses.

Raja Chaudhary

Actor Raja Chaudhary, who was earlier married to TV actress Shweta Tiwari, was held for allegedly misbehaving in public in an inebriated state. He also faced charges for allegedly molesting a woman.

Devinder Singh aka Bunty

Oye Lucky Lucky, starring Abhay Deol Oye was coarsely based on the life of thief Devinder Singh, also known as Bunty. He appeared on Bigg Boss 4 but was evicted after only three days largely due to his violent actions.

Monica Bedi

Saraswatichandra fame Monica Bedi, who was a part of Bigg Boss season 2, made headlines due to her affair with Abu Salem. She was arrested with Abu Salem by the Lisbon police for entering Portugal on forged documents. They served a jail sentence in Portugal. On September 29, 2006, an Indian court convicted Bedi for passport forgery and procuring a passport on a fictitious name. Further, in November 2010, the Supreme Court of India upheld her conviction but reduced the jail term to the period that she had already served.

Aseem Trivedi

Aseem Trivedi, a political cartoonist and activist, was a part of Bigg Boss 6. He faced serious allegations of insulting the national emblem, Parliament, Indian flag and constitution through his cartoons. In addition to that, a case of sedition (section 124 A of the Indian Penal Code) was also filed against him. He was arrested in Mumbai on charges of sedition, related to the content of his work.
