Yash Dagupta-Madhumita Sarcar starrer ‘Bojhe Na Se Bojhe Na’ to Vikram Chatterjee-Oindrila Sen starrer 'Phagun Bou': Old shows return to Bengali TV

Amid the trend of new shows having a shot inning on Bengali small screen, TV channels are keeping their faith on old Bengali shows. Big budgeted shows, heavyweight star cast, surprise elements in storyline, nothing seem to be able to give a sure and certain formula for a TV show that can turn into a mega serial. TV shows like ‘Balijhor’, ‘Meyebela’, ‘Sohag Jol’ and others already wrapped up their journey within a few months of launch. Seeing no other option, the makers are counting on the old hits these days and that’s the reason, ‘Bojhe Na Se Bojhe Na’, ‘Phagun Bou’, ‘Milon Tithi’ are now being aired yet again. Here’s a quick look.. (Photo: Facebook)

Bojhe Na Se Bojhe Na

Aranya and Pakhi fever has taken over Bengali television yet again. Launched in 2016, the Yash Dasgupta (as Aranya) and Madhumita Sarcar (as Pakhi) starrer turned out to be a smash hit on Bengali television, making it one of the most popular soap operas that ran for almost 4 years. It’s a show that not only shaped up Yash’s career and brought Madhumita closer to the audience, but introduced many new talents like John Bhattacharya, Alivia Sarkar and many others. The makers decided to bring back the nostalgia yet again on Bengali screen. (Photo: Facebook)

Phagun Bou

just like Yash-Madhumita’s pair, Oindrila Sen and Vikram Chatterjee, as a jodi, is also successful on Bengali small screen. Oindrila-Vikram first teamed up for ‘Saat Paake Bandha’, which turned out to be an instant hit. And then, the duo again teamed up for ‘Phagun Bou’, which was conceptualised by writer-producer Leena Gangopadhay. ‘Phagun Bou’, which featured Koushik Roy in a grey character, is currently being aired. The romantic family drama was originally launched in 2018 and ran for more than a year and half. Buzz around the show is quite high as it recently returned to television again. (Photo: Facebook)

Milon Tithi

Milon Tithi: It’s time for sheer nostalgia on Bengali small screen it seems. After bringing back ‘Phagun Bou’, ‘Bojhe Na Se Bojhe Na’ and ‘Ichche Nodee’, Jeetu Kamal and Ushasi Ray starrer ‘Milon Tithi’ also returned to Bengali small screen recently. ‘Milon Tithi’ also featured veteran artist Chitra Sen, alongside actors Riju Biswas, Sanchari Mondal, DebjanI Chakraborty, Raj Bhattacharya, Suvajit Kar, Alivia Sarkar and others. The was so popular that it prompted the makers to adapt the story for Hindi show ‘Imlie 2’. (Photo: Facebook)

Ichche Nodee

Vikram Chatterjee and Solanki Roy’s crackling chemistry was the USP of the romantic drama ‘Ichche Nodee’. Keeping their fans in mind, the makers also brought back the show and launch it in July. (Photo: Facebook)
