Sweta Bhattacharya to Soumitrisha Kundoo: Bengali TV artists making silver screen debuts

They are the shining stars of the Bengali small screen with an envious fan following and hit projects to their credit. Some of their shows dominated TRP charts just like they ruled hearts with charismatic presence. Now, it’s time for these prime-time TV slot rulers to take the leap and step into the silver screen. In the recent past, hugely popular artists, like Sean Banerjee, Sweta Bhattacharya and others who predominantly worked in the television industry, have stepped into the big screen. And the list is slowly getting bigger with Neel Bhattacharya signing a movie and Soumitrisha Kundoo bagging a Dev starrer. While showbiz is infamous for allegations that TV artists don’t really get an easy break in movies, these artists are proving it wrong. Let’s take a look at the artists who recently took the big plunge recently. (Photo: Facebook)

The movie was the highest-grossing movie in Tollywood and earned praise from both cine lovers and critics. Sweta’s very first Bengali movie turned out to be one of the biggest hits in 2022.
