Shreema Bhattacherjee aka Dyuti to Ahona Dutta as Mishika: Gorgeous vamps currently ruling Bengali TV

Entertainment ki kasam, no daily soap is complete without a crooked baddie or femme fatale! All the ‘rona dhona’ and sleepless nights of an adarsh beti or bahu, family crisis, plot-changing twist is because of them. In fact, it’s their constant planning and plotting that instantly spices up the drama quotient of an otherwise simple story. Bengali television too has a few femme fatales whose presence simply amps up the drama. Here’s a peek... (Photo: Facebook)

Arijita Mukhopadhyay as Krisna

Krishna Dutta isn’t any other typical saasu maa that we see in daily soaps across languages. The character has multiple shades, including a comical touch. She has a crooked mind and her current mission is nothing but posing ‘innovative’ hurdles on Bouma Parna’s way. Actress Arijita Mukhopadhyay is every bit convincing as shahsuri maa Krisna Dutta. If lead artists Rubel Das and Pallavi Sharma’s chemistry make the show enjoyable, Arijita and Pallavi’s jodi is certainly the USP of the show. (Photo: Facebook)

Chandreyee Ghosh as Shaila Maa

If protagonist Gouri’s innocence is the USP of Gouri Elo, then Shai Maa’s presence is the ‘tadka’ that instantly spices up the drama. A self proclaimed God woman, Shaila Maa is involved in many illegal activities. While she pretends to be a devotee who sacrificed her life to worship God, in reality, she can stoop down to any level to get things done. She is power hungry, greedy and manipulative. Actress Chandreyee plays Shaila Maa’s role. The character stands out in every possible way, be it Shaila Maa’s body language, her outfits or makeup. And Chandreyee as Shaila Maa proves her acting mettle yet again. (Photo: Facebook)

 Ahona Dutta as Mishika:

If Surjyo-Deepa’s chemistry is the reason behind Anurager Chhowa’s success on Bengali TV then, Dr. Mishika Sen also deserves some ‘credit’. After all, she is one of the constant reasons behind the misery in protagonist Deepa’s life! Mishika is an obsessive lover, who was once engaged to male protagonist Surya. She is heartless, manipulative and a cold blooded murder too! Young actress Ahona Dutta plays Mishika’s role. (Photo: Facebook)

Shreema Bhattacherjee as Dyuti

Gaatchora’s Dyuti is one of the most stylish vamps on Bengali small screen. The character has negative shades. Dyuti toggles between being good and bad, almost every now and then by adding high-octane drama to the show. According to the story, Dyuti is greedy and can do everything for her own benefit. Although she was eyeing the hero Riddhiman, a successful and rich businessman first, she had a change of heart. Dyuti falls in love with Rahul, a guy who has a crooked mind just like her. To save her family from embarrassment, Dyuti’s sister Khori marries Riddhiman. This makes Dyuti jealous again and she tries to make Khori’s life miserable again. Shreema Bhattacharya plays Dyuti’s role. This is the first time Shreema is playing a negative role. Until now, viewers have seen her essaying an adarsh bahu or beti. Shreema’s very first stint as an antagonist fetched her accolades and many awards. (Photo: Facebook)

Anamika Chakraborty as Oindrila

Anamika, who earlier played Dr. Hiya in Sean Banerjee starrer ‘Ekhane Akash Neel’, plays a negative role in ‘Phaguner Mohona’, starring Sidharth Sen and Ann Mary Tom as the lead artists. Her character Oindrila is a modern girl who is every bit gorgeous. Oindrila is head-over-heels in love with male protagonist Ayush, even after he gets married to another girl (protagonist Rumjhum). Oindrila keeps hatching new conspiracies to drift Ayush-Rumjhum apart. She seeks revenge now and to materialise her plan, she gets married to Ayush’s brother. The character played by Oindrila enjoys a good fan base. (Photo: Facebook)

7/9

Sudipta Banerjee as Beni

Sohag Jol’s Beni symbolises an ideal femme fatale, in every possible way. According to the story, she is male protagonist Subhro’s boudi, who has lost her husband. Beni pretends to be a damsel in distress although deep down, she keeps progressing with her crooked plan, eyeing at the much-married Subhro, her brother-in-law. Beni is every bit gorgeous and also masters the art of manipulation. The character is played by Sudipta Banerjee, who played negative roles in many other shows. Beni’s presence amps up the drama in many ways. (Photo: Facebook)

8/9

Manosi Sengupta as Moumita

Manosi, who has now a Hindi TV show (Mose Chhal Kiye Jaay) to her credit too, plays Moumita’s character in Pallavi Sharma-Rubel Das starrer ‘Neem Phuler Modhu’. Her sole purpose in life has become creating new problems in protagonist Parna’s life. She is the constant companion of saasu maa Krishna Dutta who simply doesn’t like bouma Parna. Manosi as Moumita is pretty convincing and adds a new edge to the story with her performance. (Photo: Facebook)

9/9

Shinjinee Chakraborty as Chitra

Nope, Chitra isn't a human! Kaal Naagini Chitra is a shape shifting serpentine. She enters protagonist Ponchomi’s life just as a part of her revenge plot. She forces Kinjal, who is already married to Ponchomi, to marry her. The makers conceptualised Chitra’s human avatar quite stylish and Shinjinee looks gorgeous playing the role. (Photo: Facebook)
