Puber Moyna: Ronjaboti’s suspicion falls upon Gunja

As per the current track of ‘Puber Moyna’, Moyna has returned to Bangladesh with her father leaving a void in the Dasgupta residence.
Moyna (the female protagonist) and Roddur’s (the male protagonist) paths crossed when the festivities of Durga Puja came to an end. As Roddur went to see the Durga Idol immersion with his family, he found a girl unconscious in the river. Roddur brought her to his house and tended to her. After gaining consciousness, Moyna stayed back with his family in the Dasgupta residence. With her jovial nature, she won everyone’s hearts in the family in no time. After a few days, Moyna called her father back in Bangladesh, who was worried about his missing daughter. After getting a call from Moyna, Debshankar went to India to bring her back.
Debshankar came to the Dasgupta family bearing gifts from Bangladesh to take Moyna back home. As Moyna was about to leave the Dasgupta family behind, everyone including Roddur got her some parting gifts before she went back. However, Gunja was infuriated to see Roddur getting Moyna gifts and plotted to humiliate Moyna before she left the Dasgupta residence. Gunja hid her perfume in Moyna’s bag and acted as if the perfume was missing. Upon searching, the perfume was found in Moyna’s bag.

Gunja insinuated that Moyna had stolen the expensive perfume from her bag. Despite Moyna denying the allegations, Debshankar slapped her in front of everyone. Moyna denied all the gifts she had received from the family and went back to Bangladesh with tears in her eyes.
After Moyna left, Ronjaboti (Roddur’s mother) was inconsolable. Ronjaboti denied eating anything despite Megh and Roddur pleading with her. Ronjaboti said that she was hurt not because Moyna had left, but because she left with tears of humiliation. Ronjaboti claimed that Moyna was framed and she knew who framed her. Ronjaboti said that she believed Gunja put the perfume in Moyna’s bag to purposely insult her in front of everyone. Roddur refused to believe so, but Ronjaboti’s explanation made sense.
Will Roddur get to the bottom of the truth?
‘Puber Moyna’ aims to tell the story of Roddur Dasgupta, a young man from a uniquely dysfunctional family where no one gets along and Moyna, a girl from Bangladesh with a traumatic past. Roddur's family is infamous in their locality for their constant bickering, leading Roddur to vow never to marry. Moyna, who was married to a man from Bangladesh, with nefarious intentions, escapes from her dire situation and finds herself on the run. By chance, she encounters Roddur's mother, Ronjaboti and manages to save her belongings from thieves. Ronjaboti eventually gives her shelter.

Moyna's simplicity and warmth gradually win over Roddur's family, bringing them closer together. Unaware of Moyna's past, Roddur marries her and Moyna eventually reveals her story to him. Roddur is initially shocked and outraged but chooses to keep her secret from the rest of the family. Just when it seems Moyna may find peace and happiness, her past resurfaces, threatening to disrupt their newfound harmony.
‘Puber Moyna’, starring Gourab Roy Chowdhury and Aishani De, narrates a story that beautifully captures the journey of overcoming past misfortunes to find happiness and a second lease on life. The makers of the show believe that the show will be a touchstone of nostalgia for ‘Dui Bangla’.
