‘Puber Moyna’ has arrived at a crucial point in its storyline. As per the current track of the show, Moyna has told Ronjaboti the truth behind her fleeing home. On the other hand, Debshankar has finally arrived in India to take Moyna back to Bangladesh.
When Roddur went to see the immersion of Durga Idol (Bishorjon) with his family members, he found Moyna unconscious in the river. Moyna, who fled from the temple to save herself from getting married to Rajaram, drowned herself in the river while trying to hide from Rajaram’s men. When Roddur found Moyna unconscious in the river, he brought her back home and tended to her. After gaining consciousness, Moyna got acquainted with Roddur’s family and stayed back in the Dasgupta residence. After a few days, Moyna called her father back in Bangladesh, who was worried about his missing daughter.
Meanwhile, everyone in the Dasgupta family was taken by the jovial nature of Moyna and she became part of the family in no time despite her tendency to argue at literally anything and everything. Moyna took part in the Laxmi Puja at the Dasgupta residence. From arranging everything for the Puja to singing a song at the priest’s request – Moyna did it all and happily so. However, Gunja, Roddur’s would-be-wife, was not too happy to see Moyna being everyone’s favourite. Not only did she look down upon Moyna, but also Gunja attempted to humiliate her several times in front of everyone.
On the other hand, after Moyna called Debshankar in Bangladesh, he finally arrived in India to take his daughter back home. Debshankar came to the Dasgupta family bearing gifts from Bangladesh and decided to leave with Moyna in a couple of days. As Moyna was about to leave the Dasgupta family behind, everyone including Roddur got her some parting gifts before she went back. However, Gunja was shocked to see Roddur getting Moyna gifts and reacted oddly. As Gunja felt insecure and infuriated, she plotted to humiliate Moyna once again.
What will Gunja do now?
‘Puber Moyna’ aims to tell the story of Roddur Dasgupta, a young man from a uniquely dysfunctional family where no one gets along and Moyna, a girl from Bangladesh with a traumatic past. Roddur's family is infamous in their locality for their constant bickering, leading Roddur to vow never to marry. Moyna, who was married to a man from Bangladesh, with nefarious intentions, escapes from her dire situation and finds herself on the run. By chance, she encounters Roddur's mother, Ronjaboti and manages to save her belongings from thieves. Ronjaboti eventually gives her shelter. Moyna's simplicity and warmth gradually win over Roddur's family, bringing them closer together. Unaware of Moyna's past, Roddur marries her and Moyna eventually reveals her story to him. Roddur is initially shocked and outraged but chooses to keep her secret from the rest of the family. Just when it seems Moyna may find peace and happiness, her past resurfaces, threatening to disrupt their newfound harmony.
‘Puber Moyna’, starring Gourab Roy Chowdhury and Aishani De, narrates a story that beautifully captures the journey of overcoming past misfortunes to find happiness and a second lease on life. The makers of the show believe that the show will be a touchstone of nostalgia for ‘Dui Bangla’.
