'Mayurakshi' is all set for its TV premiere
The Bengali film ‘Mayurakshi’ is all set for its world television premiere. The National award winning film is directed by Atanu Ghosh. It stars veteran actor Soumitra Chattopadhyay and Prosenjit Chatterjee. Indrani Halder is also seen essaying a pivotal role in this film.
The film, which won National award, will premiere on 27th May.
‘Mayurakshi’ explores the relationship between a father and son.

Prosenjit is seen essaying the character Aryanil, a middle aged man Kolkata from Chicago, who visits his father Sushovan (played by Soumitra). Retired historian Sushovan who is already suffering from geriatric diseases is now diagnosed with dementia.
The father-son duo catches up after a long time. His housekeeper Mallika informs Aryanil that Sushovan is of late mentioning about someone named ‘Mayurakhsi’. The drama around the name ‘Mayurakshi’ slowly unfolds.
Both Soumitra and Prosenjit are renowned actors. Soumitra has done many critically acclaimed films with famous directors including Satyajit Ray, Mrinal Sen and Tapan Sinha.
Prosejit, on the other hand has done both commercially hit and content-driven films. Bumba da is rumoured to be hosting the upcoming show ‘Ke Hobe Banglar Kotipoti’. The show is the Bengali version of Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘Kaun Banega Corepati’.
