In Pics: Here’s how Bengali television is celebrating Rath Yatra

Rath Yatra is being celebrated today with great fervour and devotion. After two years of a gap because of the pandemic-related restrictions, devotees have been allowed to attend the famous Jagannath Rath Yatra this year. Millions of devotees across the world have turned up in Puri to attend the festival. The occasion is also celebrated in Bengal with equal devotion and enthusiasm. Didi No. 1

The channel started the day with the LIVE telecast of Jagannath Rath Yatra from Puri. It also has a number of special TV programs to celebrate the occasion. Rachna Banerjee-hosted ‘Didi No. 1’ will air a special episode on Rath Yatra. The host will be seen offering puja to Lord Jagannath, Balaram and Subhadra. She will also share her fond memories from childhood associated with Rath Yatra and Rath-er Mela (local fairs during Rath Yatra). Jay Jagannath

The mythological show starring Bipul Patra and Titiksha Das in the lead roles is ready with special some episodes on the occasion of ‘Rath Yatra’. The viewers will see how Shree Chaitanya Mahaprabhu reaches Nilachal to bring back peace. The show will feature an interesting storyline revolving around Rath Yatra Utsav.

Tumii Je Amar Maa

The Suman Dey, Priya Mondal starrer show is also ready to entertain the audience with a special episode on ‘Rath Yatra’. The current storyline revolves around little Aru’s (child artist Aradhya Biswas) wish to celebrate the occasion after Arohi (played by Priya) encourages her for the same. But her dad Aniruddha opposes the decision stating that their family stopped celebrating Rath Yatra after the death of his wife. A determined Arohi, however, promises little Aru to fulfil her wish.
