From Rishi Kaushik and Payel De teaming up again to the star cast and characters: Here’s all you need to know about the upcoming TV show ‘Sona Roder Gaan’

The much-awaited television show 'Sona Roder Gaan' is set to be launched in January. The upcoming project will star popular artists Rishi Kaushik and Payel De in the lead roles while Leena Gangopadhyay is penning the story. The very first glimpse of ‘Sona Roder Gaan’ was shared by the channel recently. The first promo featuring a strong cast caught the attention of the audience. Here is all you need to know about the show.

Payel, who is a household name for Bengali audience, will play the lead role. She will essay Anondi, a girl who shoulders the burden of her family. Anondi is a sweet, joyful girl, who is loved and adored by her family. She is yet to witness the harsh side of the real world.

Rishi as Dr. Anubhab is set to steal the hearts of Bengali audience once again. Dr. Anubhab is honest and dutiful person. Earlier, he played a doctor in ‘Ekhane Akash Neel’ and the show was an instant hit. His character Dr. Ujaan in Aparajita Ghosh Das (as Hiya) starrer ‘Ekhan Akash Neel’ managed to strike a chord with the audience soon after its launch. In fact, Ujaan-Hiya’s jodi is one of the most adored reel pairs till date. Needless to say, Dr. Ujaan’s single glance left his female admirers weak on their knees.

Sohini, who has proved her acting prowess time and again, will be seen in an interesting role. She will play Anondi’s mom in the upcoming show. Senior artist Bhaskar Banerjee is paired opposite her in the show. He will play the role of a loving dad.

Actor Shoumo will also be a part of this much-talked-about project. He will play Bikram’s role. Bikram and Anondi are supposed to get married. He is a brilliant and successful boy who hails from a rich business family.

Anondi’s parents are happy about her proposed wedding with Bikram. But Anondi-Bikram’s tale takes an unexpected turn when his family demands expensive items from her family. In a shocking turn of events, Anondi’s dad passes away and everyone blames her for the incident. She tries her best to keep the family together, repay her dad’s debt and start afresh. Anondi’s life takes a new turn with Dr. Anubhab’s presence in her life.

Although Rishi and Payel are going to play the reel pair in this show, not many are aware that ‘Sona Roder Gaan’ isn’t their first show together. ‘Ekdin Pratidin’ was the first show in which the actors shared the screen together. Payel played Rishi’s reel sister in the show. Payel made her debut with 'Sahityer Sera Somoy' and 'Ekdin Pratidin' was her second project.
