Built in the 13th century during the Kakatiya dynasty rule, the Warangal Fort is one of the most important Warangal historical places. This was built when the capital of the Kakatiya dynasty was shifted from Hanamkonda to Warangal. The remains of the grand fort are a relic of the past, coming from a different time and holding immense importance in history. The Warangal Fort has 45 towers, spread over 19 km of land. You will also find a temple here called Swayambhudevi Alayam, which is dedicated to Mother Earth. The beautiful fort structure is laid out in three concentric circular walls, and another wall was built to protect the fort that was a fortified inner stone wall. Here there is also the ruin of Shiva temple, that was destroyed, and the original deity, which was a linga with four faces of Shiva is in a separate shrine located towards the south.Warangal Fort
