Dayara Bugyal trek is considered as the most enchanting and breathtaking amongst all the treks in Uttarakhand, probably because it has India’s most stunning alpine meadows. Situated at an elevation of 3048 m, the panoramic views of the Banderpunch and the Gangotri range seen from this meadow is simply mind-blowing. It is a classic trek for the enthusiasts keen to rejoice amidst nature as well as experience the mighty Himalayas at high altitude. ‘Bugyal’ generally means ‘high altitude meadow’. Dayara Bugyal and Bedni Bugyal are amongst well known and most beautiful meadows in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand. Dayara trail passes through stunning Oak forests, pristine streamlines and sprawling grasslands offering majestic views of gazing sheep’s and huts while overlooking the valley. It treats an adventure aficionado with scenic open lands, thick forests, ending at a vast region of lush green meadow. The trek has been defined as untouched and those who have strolled through this describes it as a fairy-tale land. In winters the trail transforms into ski slopes over an area of about 28 sq km.
