Basics for rookie trekkers before they get climbing.
First of all, it's important to ask yourself if you truly are interested to hike up a long distance trail. If not, then start with short distances instead.
High on energy: It's one thing to be enthusiastic about a trek and another to be physically prepared to go on it. Stamina plays a primary role in a trekker's day. So, keep energy bars and energy drinks handy in your bag.
Gear up: In the rainy season, trek gear should be rain-proof. Choose a bag with multiple pockets, padded shoulder straps, and large zipper closure. And, make sure it's the right size.
First-aid kit: Some things to keep in your day pack include a first-aid kit; water bottle; a knife, trek map, cap and a wind cheater.
Choose the correct footwear: Appropriate footwear is important, too. Buy a pair of shoes with ankle protection and break into them before you set off for your hike.
Build your walking training: Walking training will be a good way to be ready for the long trek ahead. You can also try training on a similar trek beforehand.
