The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, has announced plans to develop the famous Narayan Koti Temple in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. The Ministry, along with Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB), Director General - Culture, UttarakhanD, and Social Legal Research & Education Foundation (SLRE) have also signed a MoU for the development of the temple. The development will be done under the Ministry of Tourism’s Adopt a Heritage scheme. As per the MoU, the SLRE Foundation, a NGO, has taken the responsibility of developing amenities for tourists/visitors around the temple which is an ancient heritage site.
The work of the foundation will include building of the roads, preparing a garbage disposal system and installation of street lights, providing clean drinking water, and developing parking spaces around the temple.
