Hotels in Spain reopen with strict guidelines

As lockdown in Spain eases, hotels in the country are now allowed to reopen, but with a set of rules to follow. Spain began easing on the lockdown from May 11, after remaining under lockdown for quite some time, and has now permitted hotels to officially reopen.
This being said, it is important to note that inter-province travel in Spain is currently prohibited until June 22. Not all hotels have opened up in Spain, and those that have, must follow safety regulations, one such being that you will not be enjoying all-inclusive buffets any longer.

Spain began easing on the lockdown from May 11, after remaining under lockdown for quite some time, and has now permitted hotels to officially reopen.

The hotels will open in phases, so during the first phase, hotels can open their rooms, but not amenities such as pools, gyms, spas. These will remain shut, while restaurants inside the hotels will work with half of their terrace space. Likewise, museums also need to work with only a part of their total capacity.

One of the main rules is that there must be a safe distance between hotel guests and staff. There will also be a cap on the number of people who can visit the reception at a time. Bill payments are encouraged through cards, and floor markings will be there to ensure social distancing.

All cars, keys, must be kept inside a container that has been disinfected, and it should not come in contact with guests and staff. Also, it is important that staff members wear separate clothes to travel between home and work, and not their uniforms.

Spain has also introduced a 14-day quarantine for international travellers.
