The Philippines came right on top as Asia’s best beach destination in the World Travel Award 2020. The Philippines beat other beach destinations from Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Malaysia, and India. Not just the leading beach destination, but the Philippines also bagged the top award for leading dive destination, and tourist board for the year 2020.
If you are looking for a destination par excellence, the Philippines can definitely be the one. It has the famous Chocolate Hills in Bohol, which is also known for scuba diving; you can visit Panglao Island that is known for amazing falls and caves; or the white beach of Boracay can be extremely enchanting too. Of course, Boracay is also known for its stupendous nightlife.
The other contenders, including India, have some really amazing beach destinations, but the Philippines seems to have taken the lead in Asia as of now.
Meanwhile, the Philippines started welcoming international tourists from November 1. So now, you can go on a holiday to Asia’s no. 1 beach destination. India is already in talks with the Philippines to start an air bubble, much like the ones it already has with a number of other countries.
