The famous town of Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh is all set to have another lure for travellers. On lines similar to that of Darjeeling's Himalayan Railway and Shimla's famous Shimla - Kalka trains, Tawang will soon see a toy train. Arunachal Pradesh's CM Pema Khandu has given a go ahead to the North East Frontier Railway to kickstart a toy train project in Tawang. Read less
The toy train would center around tourists, and will have around three bogies, each with a capacity of 12 passengers. Its proposed trajectory would be around the town itself, and would also include food centers, local bazaars, a park and more.

Apart from its landscapes, Tawang is also home to a very famous Buddhist monastery. The famed monastery is the largest in the country and the second largest in the world, followed by Tibet's famous Potala Palace.
