Flight to London from Kochi to resume on August 18

The London-Kochi Air India flight is all set to resume from August 18. As the United Kingdom removes India from the Red List to its Amber List, the decision to resume the London-Kochi flight has now been taken. It has been reported that Air India will have a Dreamliner on this route.
Flight AI 150/149 is scheduled to arrive in Kochi at 3:45 am, and it will depart from London at 5:50 am every Wednesday. The flight will take off from Kerala’s Cochin International Airport, and it is a direct flight. The Cochin airport has further decided not to charge any fee for parking, and landing in order to attract more European carriers.

In a statement by S Suhas, MD, Cochin International Airport, “The flight will take10 hours from Kochi to reach Heathrow. Entering the UK from places on the amber list requires three Covid-19 tests —the first, at least three days before departure, the second, on the day of arrival or before day 2 of arrival, and the third on or after day 8 of arrival. Home quarantine for 10 days is mandatory. For UK nationals who are fully vaccinated, neither quarantine nor the day 8 test is required.”
Suhas further said that the airport is working with Air India to work on this connectivity after a long span of flight ban. Expats have been demanding this connectivity for a long time, and the airport is hoping to attract more foreign airlines within a year’s time.
