A set of new travel guidelines have been issued by the Airports Authority of India that discusses regulations for domestic passengers. With quarantine rules for travellers and the pandemic still not showing any signs of disappearance, AAI has issued these guidelines to ensure safe passage. The two states that have been concentrated on by the AAI are Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh. Here are the rules and regulations for flying when it comes to these two states.
- 14-day compulsory home quarantine for all passengers arriving into Tamil Nadu from other Indian states. Those who are symptomatic will have to go into institutional quarantine, and required steps will be taken once the results are out.
- All passengers arriving at Chennai from Maharashtra, Delhi, and Gujarat will have to go through thermal screening.
- COVID test shall be conducted on passengers from other Indian states at the discretion of the health officials.
- COVID test shall be conducted on passengers travelling within the state of Tamil Nadu.
- Those who are on business trips, and are only in the state for 48 hours will be exempted from quarantine. But you would have to show proof of return.
- It is compulsory for all passengers to register on the state website, and also to obtain Tamil Nadu e-pass.
- Airlines need to ensure that passengers are carrying a valid Tamil Nadu e-pass.
Uttar Pradesh -
- International passengers coming into Uttar Pradesh are required to stay 7 days in institutional quarantine, and a further 7 days in home quarantine.
- All passengers will go through mandatory thermal screening.
- Domestic passengers are to stay in 14 days home quarantine.
- All passengers coming into Uttar Pradesh are required to register on the state website before exiting arrival.
- If a passenger is leaving the state within 7 days, he or she is not required to stay in quarantine, but valid return documents must be produced.
- The Aarogya Setu app must be downloaded to declare the status of health.
