Mississippi’s Natchez city has a new scheme for the digital nomad. The city is hoping to get new residents through an incentive programme, called Shift South. But why would you move you ask? Because the city is willing to pay you for it! Remote workers who are willing to move to Natchez will be paid $6000.
The good news is that the cost of living in Natchez is quite low, so it should be easy for those who decide to move into the city for at least a year.
Sitting by the Mississippi River, it has some very interesting things to explore. Reputed as being a diverse state, it is one of the oldest in the state, and hence has some historic buildings dotted across it. A great place to let your hair down even, Natchez can be an ideal place to remotely work for you. Besides, there is also the lure of being a resident of a new city.
