I stayed in Mirasol resort which is a popular destination for marriages and approximately 4 km from Daman in Kadaiya village. Families from Vapi, Surat and other cities of Gujarat and Maharashtra choose this as their choice for a wedding destination. The sprawling gardens, coconut trees and warm hospitality of Mirasol makes it an ideal family place. I found the food preparation at Mirasol resort to be very special, be it the traditional Gujarati food, north Indian, Italian, continental, Thai or Maharashtrian preparations. Mirasol also has a manmade water park with a huge lake, boating options and toy train ride for families and kids. Many bollywood movies have been shot at Mirasol resort and waterpark. At night, the brightly lit up fountains and reflected lights casts a magical spell on tourists.
Vaibhav waterpark is about 7 km from Daman on the Kanta-Vapi road. Like Mirasol, it is another place for fun and adventure for families and offers non-stop excitement. Vaibhav waterpark is surrounded by farms of mangoes, coconut and chikoo. Entry fee to Mirasol and Vaibhav waterparks is for Rs. 200 and they are ideal places to spend a weekend at if you are driving from the nearby cities of Gujarat or Maharashtra.
