We might live in an age where air travel is the norm, but the one thing that fascinates the kids more than flying through the skies, is chugging along in a train. The National Rail Museum offers a peek into India’s rich rail heritage—don’t miss the train once owned by the Maharaja of Patiala—through displays of both functional, and static train models. Spread over 10 acres it is also a great place to school the kids on a large variety of engines and carriages, where they can clamber on and discover for themselves. End with a ride aboard the toy train that runs along the perimeter of the museum—be prepared when they want to return for seconds.
