Geneva doesn't really need huge parks when its got one of Western Europe's largest lakes lapping at the feet of its city centre. Perfect for strolling and with many places dotted along the shore for food, drink and even the odd swim, its lakeside is one of its greatest assets.
Walking out from the centre of town, the Lake actually offers two quite different views. Walk left from the Pont du Mont Blanc towards Paquis and you'll find yourself looking back at a jaw-dropping view of Mont Blanc and its surroundings. Walk right from the bridge in the direction of the Jet D'Eau and you'll be faced with a panorama of the much lower but still beautiful Jura Mountains.
