Spanning across 3.5 acres, the National Gallery of Modern Art in Bangalore is housed in the erstwhile mansion of Mysore royal family. The gallery is divided in two wings—old and new—which exhibit works that belong to the pre-Independence and post-Independence era, respectively. The walls here are adorned with works of great artists like Raja Ravi Verma, Jamini Roy, Amrita Sher-Gil, Rabindranath Tagore and many more.
