The sea at Noosa might be stunning but the Noosa river has a charm all its own. Flowing tranquilly with pretty, sprawling houses dotting its banks, the river meanders right through the hinterland. For a change of scene and tempo from the sea, opt for a slow cruise run by the Noosa Ferry Cruise Company which operates a daily ferry cruise service between the historic riverside town of Tewantin and along the beautiful waterways past Noosaville (with great views across to Noosa’s north shore) and Noosa Sound into the heart of Noosa Heads. There are departures all day from seven different points along the route. You can join in at a place and time to suit your itinerary but don’t miss the sunset cruise which is predictably magnificent.
