It is the first museum to even focus solely on human rights and this incredible piece of architecture, full of exhibits and experiences that focus on human rights, both within Canada and the entire world. Visiting here should be on the top of your list when in Winnipeg, especially during the wintertime as it offers a brief respite from the cold weather. The museum has 10 core galleries, each featuring multimedia, interactive presentations and various other ways of learning about human rights. The exhibitions are rotating and thus change depending on when you visit. Some of the most notable ones that will run throughout 2016/2017 include Girls of Courage, the story of Malala Yousafzai. The youngest person to ever receive the Nobel Peace Prize, Malala was just 17 when she received it for her campaign on girl’s right to education. Another interesting exhibit that is on until 2017 is named Perilous Crossing and is dedicated to all the refugees and migrants who tried to cross the Mediterranean Sea in order to flee their countries and reach Europe safely. Do plan on spending at least an entire day at this incredible museum.
