The trendy neighborhood of Inglewood is a favourite of locals and for visitors that come to the city. Although there are many unique areas in Calgary, this one boasts awesome and unique shops, superb dining, and an array of interesting events, especially during the summer. It is here where you will find access to the Calgary Zoo, and the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary, two attractions for nature and animal lovers. Festive street parties take place in July and August along with their ever popular night market. Pop into one of the many used bookstores that line the street, or you could treat yourself to some superior shaving cream at the “shave shop” that sells not only shaving supplies but axes as well. Some of the best places to dine in Inglewood include the famous Rouge, which features a lush patio, and The Carmichael. Inglewood Pizza is what you are looking for when looking for fast food. Make sure to check out the Silk Road Spice Merchant where your senses will be delighted as soon as you walk through the door, as well as Fort Calgary where you can get a great history lesson and introduction to the city and its history.
