The celebration of this fest is also quite beautiful and mesmerising. During this time, people come together and gather around water bodies such as rivers, lakes and canals to set adrift krathongs, (Loi Krathrong). Loi in English means to float while Krathong means a kind of raft. As per Thai traditions, the raft is made of banana leaves decked up with flowers, incense sticks and candles, which is then left in the water to sail. Besides, hot air balloons are also launched that illuminate the sky on the day, a sight to behold and remember forever.
