This is the second oldest church in North India, and is one of Shimla’s most-visited landmarks. Showcasing a neo-Gothic style of architecture, the church was designed by Colonel J.T. It was built between 1846 and 1857 to serve Shimla’s Anglican British community. Conspicuously situated on the ridge, the silhouette of Christ Church is visible for miles around. The interior is plain, except for five stained glass windows adorning the east wing, each representing a distinct Christian virtue.
