The Russian Market (Psar Toul Tom Poung) is at the south end of the Central Business District in the fast growing Toul Tom Poung neighbourhood just below Mao Tse Tong Boulevard. The market gets it’s name from the mass of Russians that apparently used to frequent it in the 80s. There aren’t too many Russians at the Russian Market but there is pretty much anything else you can imagine.
The market aisles are a series of winding trails that lead visitors deeper and deeper into the heart of the market. Do not be surprised if you wind up completely baffled about where you are, where you came in and where you come out. A trail of breadcrumbs will not help you here!
There is a small food court and some fresh fruit and vegetable stalls to the north of the market. As the market closes at 5 pm, the produce vendors spill out into the street creating a hectic tangle of shoppers, motorbikes and produce.
