Designated as a protected area in Tamil Nadu, the Guindy National Park sprawls across 2.70 sq km, and is one of the few national parks located within the city limits. A photographer’s paradise, the park is home to hundreds of blackbucks, spotted deer, and a wide variety of jackals, turtles, hyenas, pangolins, hedgehogs, common mongooses and birds. Shadowed by soaring trees, the park encloses a few beautiful lakes and streams, and is best explored during early mornings.
