Nothing really comes close to a hike in a national park where you can see the endemic species up close. Seychelles has over six national parks and one of the most popular is the Morne National Park that covers almost 20 % of Mahe in a verdant cover of green. Heading to the highest point of Mahe, Morne Seychellois, you can spot almost all the endemic species in one place – birds like the scops owl, the odd barn owl, the bulbuls, mammals like the fruit bats, the tenrecs, reptiles including the endemic chameleon besides frogs and stick insects.
