New Orleans’s culture is such that there have been many edgy, quirky and weird elements to it. Among these, voodoo has been a significant part of New Orleans’ culture even since the city was established in the 18th century. And to give shape and preserve this aspect of the city’s history, the New Orleans Historic Voodoo Museum was set up. The entity tries to protect this legacy through education but with a liberal dose of entertainment. Among the things that visitors can see and explore are mysteries, legends and traditions of voodoo. It also tries to educate on the influence voodoo has had throughout the city’s history. It has among its collection wooden masks, skulls, voodoo dolls, portraits and other artifacts.
