Located on the Chambal River near the tri-point of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, this Park was first declared part of Madhya Pradesh in 1978 and now constitutes a long narrow eco-reserve co-administered by the three states.It is also known as the National Chambal Gharial Wildlife Sanctuary, because it's the last primary habitat of the critically endangered gharial. Among other endangered animals the red crowned roof turtle and the Ganges river dolphin are found here.
