"The entire responsibility of maintenance and revenue generation from these stations lies with the IRSDC and we have to make sure that these stations are revenue surplus and to the extent that it can be invested back in the maintenance and development of the station,” said Lohia.
Reportedly, the cost of redeveloping the Habibganj station will be INR 450 crore. When the project is completed, the new airport-like Habibganj station will have a glass dome-like structure, and will be home to a host of various passenger facilities including a plush waiting lounge, food plazas, and cafeterias among other things.

On the other hand, the 250-crore redevelopment project of the Gandhinagar railway station, among other things, will have a five-star hotel with 300 rooms. The hotel will be constructed 22 metres above the ground, and will be a combination of three buildings, that will together be made to look like petals.
