Many Chinese clans in Malaysia have a genealogy dating back hundreds or even thousands of years. Learn about such records, called Jia Pu, through the genealogy of the Yeap family going back 2500 years.
The social history gallery, using a mix of infographics and multimedia, weave a storyline of the life of Yeap Chor Ee and migrants like him to 19th century Penang. Learn about the transition of a barber into a banker and get a glimpse of how business was done back then. The charming building that houses the heritage used to be the first home of this inspirational gentleman and has recently been converted into a social history gallery. Also notice the antique furniture and artefacts from over a century ago. The gallery includes an audio guide providing interesting information as you tour the property through its relatively narrow passages.

Tips: Located on Penang Street, The House of Yeap Chor Ee is just off Light Street and next to 3D Trick Art Museum. It is closed on weekends and public holidays.
