For those considering a UK-long bike ride, this is the traditional start. The B3306 twists, climbs, turn and drop through the countryside with excellent visibility add to the magnificence of the trip though livestock can occasionally block the road. The dramatic countryside harbours old mines, ancient stone walls and outstanding rock formations amongst uneven fields. Granite farmhouses, signs of the pagan lifestyle of witchcraft, rituals, folklore, and jutting cliffs with views of the Scilly Isles look mesmerising. From Land’s End, it’s 3 miles to St Just, then you need to cross through Trewellard, Pendeen, the tiny hamlet of Morvah, Gurnard’s Head, little Zennor with its own valley, and finally St Ives.
