There is so much food produce for sale, so much choice, it really is a chef's heaven. Supporting Victorian farmers has never been more important and buying from family owned businesses ensures Melbourne's food variety and great diversity is maintained. Late afternoon can be a lot more fun when stallholders can sometimes be found, with $1 bags of the best fruit and vegetables, trays of fish and meat at great prices and the famous fish auctions starting at 4.30pm.
