Green Park Ayurvedic and Spices Plantation

A heady concoction of spicy smell engulfs you as you enter the Green Park Spice Plantation―another addition to the day, which brings the best of Kerala under a small platform of Kumily. The entrance to the plantation is a traditional Kerala styled door, which leads into a five-acre plantation of a mixed organic spices and a handful of farm animals! If you are travelling with children, do add it to the itinerary as it involves a full hour or more of fun and learning. The in-house guide makes you duck for cover under large leafy plants and meander through a stone path to taste, touch and be enthralled by the variety of plants, fruits and spices. You even get to climb a wooden planked hanging bridge, which is a part of the property. The spice plantation helps you pace out your travel and add another aspect to Kerala if you are on a short trip to Thekkady. It’s therapeutic to walk around the plantation, surrounded by a million shades of green. While the national park is still the strongest draw, this adds a learning dimension to the trip.
