Delhi woke to dense fog today, as visibility dropped to dangerous level all across Delhi-NCR. Reports state a number of flights were either delayed or cancelled due to low visibility and predictions of further bad weather. Region’s air quality index too hit another low,with PM 2.5 pegged at 278 (poor) as minimum temperature in the capital dropped to 9 degree Celsius for the day. Read less
Weather forecast spells an intense cold wave to follow up the fog in the capital and surrounding region, with predictions of rain on Wednesday and Thursday. Detailed weather reports for today predict that moderate to heavy fog will engulf Delhi-NCR for most of the day. The prevailing conditions are expected to stay the same for a few more days, while mercury plunges down further. Weather agencies have advised Delhiites to stay indoors to combat the deteriorating air quality, especially around evening and early morning.
